This is the perfect
break for those who wish to combine walking
and
discovering different areas of Ireland
by car. We will book your
accommodation, car hire and supply you
with walking notes and
maps (cycling notes in Kerry also available).
You simply walk when
and where you choose.
We have chosen Kerry, Wicklow and Galway
as your walking bases.
The walks we have chosen are circular of
varying lengths in some of
the most scenic parts of the country. You
simply decide how
energetic you are feeling, park the car
and walk. The walks we have
selected are located in different parts
of the country, which gives
you the opportunity to explore each region.
We have, where possible added a unique
Go Ireland twist to your
trail. For example, in the Kerry region
you can drive to Portmagee in
south Kerry and take a boat trip to the
Skellig Rocks. The Skellig
Rocks rise about 200m above the Atlantic
Ocean, just 12km from the
Kerry coast. Skellig Michael, the largest
rock contains beehive
dwellings of an early Christian monastery.
The smaller rock is a bird
sanctuary. Alternatively, in the West of
Ireland region you can take a
boat to the Aran Islands off the coast
of Galway and walk to the
pre-historic fort, Dun Aonghasa.
